Consultant/Needs Assessment for the Philippines

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of the Philippines is seeking a consultant to support the implementation of a Category I Fish Fund project (FFM/PPG/27) titled "Category 1 Grant for the Philippines' Needs Assessment Study on the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies (AFS)". 

 

Deadline to apply: 15 April 2026.

Expected PPG start date: 15 May 2026 (tentative).

The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of Sri Lanka is seeking a consultant to support the implementation of a Category I Fish Fund project (FFM/PPG/34) titled "Strengthening Sri Lanka’s Compliance with the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies: Comprehensive Assessment and Implementation of Sustainable Fisheries Management Measures".

Australia contributes an additional AUD 2 million to WTO Fish Fund

The government of Australia has committed an additional AUD 2 million (approximately CHF 1.2 million) to the WTO Fisheries Funding Mechanism, known as the Fish Fund, to assist developing and least-developed members in implementing the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies. This contribution builds on Australia's earlier contribution of AUD 2 million in May 2023.

WTO Fish Fund approves USD 2.9m in first grants

During its meeting on 18 and 19 November 2025, the WTO Fish Fund Steering Committee approved 26 project grant requests to support developing and least developed country Members in implementing the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies.
